Fiat 1100 103 TV Berlina 1953, Color Codes
Hi,
I am restoring a Fiat 1100 TV Berlina 1953.
I want to paint the car in original colors.
The car is in two basic colors + a third color on the rims.
The body has a Grey color. The roof is metalic Blue.
Can somebody help me with the Color codes and Color Names. Dupont Codes or Glasurit Codes or similar would be fine.
The rims are special. They are also in two colors. The base color i Creme, the second Color is the same as used on the roof. What is the color code for the Creme color.
Do anybody know ?
Thanks in advanse.
best regards
Nils,

Re: Fiat 1100 103 TV Berlina 1953, Color Codes
Hi again Nils, I can't help you but we do have a body expert among our members. I would suspect however that he would need more detail about the exact shades of colour on your car - could you post some pics?
Alternatively, are there any places/corners on the car where the original paint has survived in good condition where a skilled paint shop might be able to do a match?
All the best, John.

Re: Fiat 1100 103 TV Berlina 1953, Color Codes
Hi,
At last I can look back and tell you the about the result of my hunt for the color codes to my 1100 TV 1954.
First I tried to buy some old paint chips on Ebay, but that did not help me much. I ended up inviting a paint salesman to my garage to inspect the car. That was a good move and, by trial and error, we at last found a good match for the 3 paint colors I needed.
The car had the old paint present, and I had to find the codes before I striped the car down to the bare metal. The new paint is made by Glasurit so I guess the paintcodes are Glasurit codes.
The original body color was two tone: in light grey body, and with a blue/green'ish metallic roof.
The rims had also a two tone color disign. The original base color of the rims are Cream, and the outer circle of the rims were painted in the same color as the roof, that is: a blue/green'ish metallic color.
To sum it all up:
Body color:
Light Grey: Glasurit 7*03*21.00
Roof and Rim outer circle color:
Blue/Green'ish: Glasurit HON 575
Wheel Rim base color:
Cream: Glasurit CPS2SM017.50
I hope this can help others. Comments are still welcome
best regards

Well done! Will you be repainting the car soon? If so, would be great to see some photos of work in progress and final result. All the best, John.

Re: Fiat 1100 103 TV Berlina 1953, Color Codes
Hi John,
The hunt for the right color codes delayed the project a bit. I started stripping the car for all parts in April this year. Every singel part, or group of parts, were labeled and put in plastic bags. Photos and videos were taken. Thereafter I sent the car to a company who submergeded the the whole car and major parts into an acid bath, to strip it if for rust dirt and paint. The stripped down car is now back in my garage. Clean as new. I had done some rustwelding before the stripping, but more rust appeared after I removed the paint. Unfortunately my garage is a cold garage and the winter has arrived in Norway with below zero degrees. At present, the restoration process is therefore on hold until next spring.
I will try to post some pictures in later messages. (I have to practice posting pictures, thanks for your earlier tips)
best regards

In repect of the paint job, it has been akward to get it done during this late autumn. But small items can be moved and get painted inhouse.
The rims are now painted in two pack Glasurit paint and in the original color scheme. I hope the two pack paint is hard enough to withstand the wear and tear from stone chips and changing of tires.
However, I am rather pleased with the result of the color match, the originality and the paint job!
About tires:
As you can see I have trial fitted white sides. I have a question. Where can I buy White side tires in this dimension 5,20x14. What manufacturer makes them today ?
How about radial tires, what are the right dimemsion, and are they also found with white sides ?
Best regards,
Nils Kr.

Re: Fiat 1100 103 TV Berlina 1953, Color Codes
Beautiful job! Love the wheels! With paint finish like that they don't need hubcaps!
There's a fair bit of discussion on the forum about tyres. Just looked up one or two of the threads and I have found mention of Goodrich white-wall tyres, in the original x-ply 5.20x14 size, so they might be worth investigating.
Closest radials are 155/14, which forum members in Italy seem to be able to obtain easily.
Here in NZ, neither the x-plies nor the 155 radials are easy to find. My preference would be to run wider tyres, but that would require different rims.
