engine oil filter
I am just enquiring does anybody know where I can buy the fine metal for the internal engine oil filter or a suitable alternative as mine has disintergrated and there is no need to replace the whole piece.

Re: engine oil filter
Hi, mine has disintegrated as well. The mesh has been removed altogether, just leaving the housing in place. Easiest that way. Just change the external by-pass oil filter on a regular basis.
Hope this helps. All the best, John.

Re: engine oil filter
Thanks for the reply,I own 1954/55 fiat millecento 1100 103E.The year and model are open to question as there are no records.I presume the E stands for export. It does not have a center light on the grill.I ordered seals for the master cyclinder for a 1100R and they where the wrong seals.I believe it is 1100 103 export. It is in very poor condition. The damage is mostly on the bodywork. : .So I will spend many happy hours working on it.

It's a good job, there is no question ! If your car hasn't the center light is not a E model. More probably a A/B model (little differences between the two types). If you will post some photos ore give us the chassis number, we could help you to identifie. And also help you in the restoration project. If you, also, would became a club member, we will be very happy; we already have some foreign members from Austria and Switzerland.

Hi Paul,
Yes, I think the description of your car is open to question.
The Millecento 1100 103E was not a 1954 model but a 1956-57 model. Regarding your car it may be a 1954 model but with a 103E.000 engine fitted at a later stage by ealier owner. However, the 1100 103E did have a center fog light, a disign item adopted from the earlier and sportier 1100TV Berlina, though the lights are not similar.
Be aware of that the 1100R was a major revision to the earlier models. That includes the brakes. So, many parts are not interchangable.
To help identifie models, I will quote you a tabel of the different models:
