Re: 1100 for sale in NZ
Re above vehicle for sale in NZ - here's some knowledgeable info from Forum Member and 1100 specialist Luigino in South Africa:
Quote:
1) I think someone from SA exported the car to NZ, judging by the number plates.
2) this model is the 103E model introduced between 1956 and 1957, and not the 103 TV fast touring as the owner mentions, the 103 TV and the 103ETV fast touring had a longer boot, a badge to say fast touring on front fenders, different flashers and 2 x extra lights below front indicators on the grille.
3) the speedo dash has been changed some time, and is not the original for that particular model, the dash speedomoter from the photos is the same as the Fiat 1100 export, special and 1100D models, because it is marked to 100 MPH, and it has a temperature gauge. Someone changed it sometime in the car’s life.End Quote
Thanks Luigino for your valuable info. I've posted an edited version on the auction site and hope that the vendor will amend his description... and his asking price!!!
John.
